Children
Children are vital members of the church
At First Presbyterian Church, children are not just the future of the church—they are a cherished part of our church family. We help them grow in faith from their earliest days and discover that they are deeply loved by God.
Baptisms
Baptism marks the beginning of a faith journey, as we welcome infants, children, and youth into our church family. Through baptism, we celebrate God’s promises of love and grace that surround us all our lives. If you are interested in having a baptism at First Presbyterian Church, contact Mark Bedford | pastor@1stpresby.com.
Sunday School
Children and youth are invited to Sunday School each week at 9:30 a.m. Classes offer age-appropriate Bible stories, activities, and discussions that help kids grow in faith and friendship. Together, we learn what it means to follow Jesus and live as God’s family.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer, our church offers Vacation Bible School (VBS). Children gather for a week of Bible stories, music, crafts, games, and friendship—all centered on experiencing God’s love in a fun and engaging way.
Children's Sermon
Children are invited to take part in worship and learning in meaningful ways. Children’s sermons during worship offer age-appropriate messages that connect God’s Word to their everyday lives.
Children's Choir
Our Children’s Choir is a joyful part of worship. After the children’s sermon each week, our young singers gather for practice, learning songs of faith and praise. Throughout the year, they share their music with the congregation.
Confirmation
Youth in 6th – 8th grade may join our Confirmation class, where they explore Scripture, organize a community volunteer project, and learn what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Confirmation ends with the opportunity to publicly affirm their faith and become full members of the church.
