Shepherd’s Garden
Join us for a unique evening of music, worship, and community under the stars.
Set among the beauty of Shepherd’s Garden, this outdoor U2charist will feature the inspiring music of U2 (played by a live band) woven together with Scripture, prayer, and a message of hope. Surrounded by twinkle lights and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, we’ll reflect on faith, grace, and the ways God is at work in our world.
This is a casual, community-wide event. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, invite your friends and neighbors, and enjoy an unforgettable evening in one of Sioux City’s most beautiful outdoor spaces.
What to bring:
- Lawn chair or blanket
- Friends and family
- An open heart
We look forward to sharing this special evening with you.
More About U2charist
A U2charist is a Christian worship service that incorporates the music and themes of the Irish rock band U2.  The name is a blend of “U2” and “Eucharist” (another name for Holy Communion). Rather than being a concert, a U2charist uses U2’s songs to explore biblical themes.  such as: grace, justice, hope, and God’s love for the word. Many of U2’s lyrics are deeply influenced by Scripture and the Christian faith of band members, particularly Bono, making them a natural fit for worship when paired with biblical readings and prayer.
The first U2charist was developed in the early 2000s by ministers who recognized the spiritual depth of U2’s music. Since then, churches from many denominations—including Presbyterian Church (USA), The Episcopal Church, United Methodist Church, and Evangelical Lutheran Church in America—have hosted U2charists.
