A Word From Pastor Tom
There is a link between the beginning of the life of our Lord and the end of the Story which we call Easter. Both the birth and death of Jesus are about the same thing - the reality of all that God is plunging into all the mess, the darkness, the sin and death that is all too often the reality of too many in our world. God comes to us and allows the world to do its worse so that God can drain suffering to its dregs and transform this world from the inside out.
Easter announces the beginning to every ending; A fresh word when the Final Word has been spoken; the triumph of life and joy when it seems that death and grief have won. That is the Easter story and it ought to be a story we delight in sharing. This story should motivate our living and the story we long to see come into being within our communities.
There is nothing hollow about the Easter story. It is full of hope and promise. And amidst the chocolate and peeps of Easter, may we all find something new and fresh in this story, because there in nothing empty, but a tomb and that is what Easter is truly about.
